In 2006, Madinet Nasr for Housing and Development (MNHD), a leading real estate development company, has acquired NUI and became the major shareholder with a 98%. The acquisition triggered a reformation wave in the company and the board of directors was restructured in 2011. NUI provides engineering, procurement and construction services on large, complex and demanding projects including water/sewage and transportation projects for public and private customers.
