The EnAccord String Quartet was founded in 1998. The Quartet studied at the Dutch String Quartet Academy (NKSA) with Stefan Metz and at the Hochschule für Musik in Cologne, with the members of the Alban Berg Quartet. The Quartet won several prizes, like the 3rd prize at the ‘Internationaler Joseph Haydn Wettbewerb' in Vienna and the 2nd prize at the 'Trondheim International Chamber Music Competition. In 2010 they received the 'Kersjes Prijs'. The quartet has an extensive repertoire, and often programmes well-known works alongside lesser-known masterpieces. The quartet particularly enjoys working with contemporary composers and has premiered a number of compositions. The quartet has significant concert experience and regularly performs at home and abroad with,among others, the cellist Valentin Erben, violist Hartmut Rohde, oboist Bart Schneemann and pianist Severin von Eckardstein. The quartet has performed in Amman, Budapest, Geneva, Istanbul, Loro Ciufenna and Siena, amongst other places, and in the Carnegie Hall in New York.
