Enactus, formerly known as Students In Free Enterprise (SIFE), is an international non-profit organization present in 39 countries around the world, with over 67,000 students as active members. Enactus brings together a diverse network of university students, academic professionals and industry leaders around the shared mission of creating a better and a more sustainable world. Enactus VIT is a students' team at VIT, Vellore which aims to empower the community and in turn inculcating the skills and values of global leadership through social entrepreneurship among its members. Project Trofi, the first project by the team backed by Walmart Inc., bagged 4th position in the Enactus National Competition held in Mumbai in 2014. The project helped the war widows in Vellore locality establish their clothing brand.Team currently focuses on Project Envision, an initiative to help the visually challenged population of Vellore to achieve financial independence.
