What is ENSŌ? ENSŌ is a Japanese term for "circle". In Zen Buddhism, an ensō is a circle that is hand-drawn in one uninhibited brushstroke to express a moment when the mind is free to let the body create. It evidences the character of its creator and the context of its creation in a brief, contiguous period of time. Drawing ensō is a spiritual practice that one might perform daily. So why ENSŌ Architects? We founded the firm on the principle that creativity is not difficult, but it can be profound. If you are in the right frame of mind, it's one simple brushstroke. We seek to find the uninhibited creative design expression that paints our clients' goals, dreams, and aspirations in a single elegant and beautiful solution. We are a full service architecture firm specializing in the markets of healthcare, higher education, commercial and retail spaces, and multi-family housing. How We Achieve Your Project GoalsFirst, we listen; we actively listen; we question, and then listen some more. We capture your project goals and objectives, and then return them back to you in words, graphics, and illustrations to be sure we understand. We then manage the design process, investing time into bench-marking others, researching trends, and reinforcing a culture of timely, frequent, and open communications with the team. From a design standpoint, we integrate your project goals and objectives with the historic, cultural and social fabric of each site and program. Our commitment to effective leadership, research, and a collaborative design process ensures you receive personal service - where we respond precisely to your specific needs and aspirations for your project.
