Many Seattle residents say that one of their favorite things about Seattle is its diversity. From tiny taco trucks to hidden pho' restaurants, affordable nail salons to interesting museums, Seattle has it all, thanks in part to its vibrant immigrant community. And yet, many Seattleites say that they don't know how to find these businesses, or feel intimidated to try something new. That's where we come in. In 2014, a group of ethnic business owners founded The Ethnic Business Coalition (EBC) in order to amplify the voices of immigrant and people of color (POC)-owned businesses in the Seattle area. EthnicSeattle.com connects businesses with curious customers who want to find out more about businesses and events in their city. Seattle is home to Buddhist ceremonies and East African musical festivals, vibrant cultural and religious centers, and great POC-owned businesses that are open day in and day out. We invite you to explore the many layers of Seattle. On EthnicSeattle.com, you will find articles about different ethnic foods, organizations, businesses, and celebrations found in Seattle.storefront_24When you enter a POC-owned business, it may be confusing at first. People chat in foreign tongues and foods may be unfamiliar. But step closer and you'll be hooked on the intoxicating spices wafting through the air of an Ethiopian restaurant, the meticulous detail of a Vietnamese American-owned tailor, the whirling colors of Lunar New Year celebrations, the enthusiasm of a travel agent who want to tell you all about her home country, and more. One thing is for sure, wherever you go, you'll find friendly faces who will welcome you back again and again. The Ethnic Business Coalition is a 501(c) (3) nonprofit organization.
