EU-AIMS is the largest single grant on Autism in the world, and the largest in any mental health disorder in Europe. EU-AIMS involves a novel collaboration between organisations representing affected individuals and their famillies (Autism Speaks), academia and Industry who for the first time in the world have come together to develop the infrastructure underpinning new treatments for autism.The project European Autism Interventions – A Multicentre Study for Developing New Medications, led by Roche and King's College London consists of 25 participating institutions based in eight different EU member states as well as in Iceland, Switzerland and United States.1) Development and validation of translational approaches for the advancement of novel therapies to treat ASD2) Setting new standards in research and clinical development to aid the drug discovery process3) Identification and development of expert clinical sites across Europe to run clinical studies and trials, and the creation of an interactive platform for ASD professionals and patients.
