Exonav's Kinematic Map is a next-generation navigation map designed for Advanced Driver Assistance Systems and autonomous vehicles. The Kinematic Map holds reference trajectories for every single maneuver on the road, setting a baseline path and velocity for an automated car to follow. There are myriad situations in which robotic perception falls short of providing a safe and comfortable ride, even when combined with an infrastructure map –think bad or absent lane markings, unprotected left turns, adverse weather conditions… The Kinematic Map is built and updated automatically by aggregating vehicle fleet data, and provides a significant advancement toward autonomous driving reliability.
