Eyomphakathi Foundation is a non-profit organisation found in 2014 with the aim to develop vulnerable and disadvantaged rural community by elevating poverty and unemployment through creating basic social and economic infrastructure, training to rural unemployed youth and women to provide employment to, so as to discourage seasonal and permanent migration to urban areas.Eyomphakathi Foundation is a non-Profit Organization registered in terms of NON-PROFIT ORGANISATIONS ACT, 1997 (ACT 71 OF 1997). The organization was found by a young bride, who always had passion in empowering black people in the rural areas. The name of this woman is Hlengiwe Msomi. She formed this foundation with the objective to offer continued improvement of the quality of life of the rural population while at the same time seeking to assure an effective and efficient contribution by the rural economy to the national development process.When Hlengiwe married into a family in a Village called Hlokozi in Qhamuka, she saw the need of empowering the people on that village as they must travel to the big cities just to get education, skills and services. Some would just stay at home and do nothing after completing matric or failing because of financial implications.And then she formed Eyomphakathi Foundation Skills Development Academy.Eyomphakathi Foundation Skills Academy is a community-based resource dedicated to helping vulnerable and disadvantaged rural community to improve their employability and self-employment opportunities through quality Skills Development Programs.The Academy will be based at Qhamuka Village, Hlokosi, KwaZulu Natal South Africa. Gidela Secondary School is propose premises as it was shut down in 2018.
