Many years ago Guagnano had a heart that was composed of our grandfathers' main passion; they were persevering vine-growers and wrote the most important pages of a story entitled "Negroamaro".It is not a story similar to many others: in fact, the exertion and the self-sacrifice of people who were born and grown up in a strip of south, where the everyday life tended to get mixed up with timelessness, can be detected in it. It is easy to lend an ear to this story and still hear the creak of the wheel on the mule track and the indistinct voices, a sort of ridge between the night and the day, coming from the vines. More than eighty years later, the same self-sacrifice and the identical passion throb in our soul with the same strength and stubbornness. It is since 2002 and thanks to them that we, that is Gianvito, Carlo and Franco – those same vine-growers' grandsons – have been undertaking (after saving our ancestors' abandoned negroamaro vines) to write a new chapter of this long and fascinating story, whose title is "Feudi di Guagnano"; it underlines the indissoluble bond with our territory and our love for this land, which is mean and, at the same time, generous.Moments of conviviality, tastes of negroamaro, routes, landscapes, friendship and warm welcomes are the essence of Feudi di Guagnano.
