Five Borough Films is a Brooklyn-based production company founded in 2008 by Brian Sargent. We specialize in the coverage of contemporary arts and culture through documentary film and video, as well as editorial and event photography. Our clients are a broad range of affiliates from both the non-profit and corporate worlds of film, music, dance, fashion, art, and architecture. As an award-winning fine arts photographer and DP, Brian's work has been featured in BBC and CBC documentary features, including The Bank that Bust the World. His archival film research credits include The Boys in the Boat for American Experience, The Roosevelts, Jackie Robinson, and Vietnam for Florentine Films as well as numerous Vice and Frontline productions. Brian has spent a decade managing partner relationships for the Fox Movietone Newsreel collection in New York, overseeing rights and clearances, media storage and delivery, data management, film transfers, and research. With 20 years' experience as an Archives Producer, Brian brings deep technical expertise to his work with archive formats and client media delivery turnaround. He has an acumen for identifying unique and arresting content buried within raw footage. Five Borough Films seeks to illuminate points of view missing from the current media conversation, by telling the stories between the stories everyone else is telling.
