Focus Birmingham are a charity who support visually impaired and disabled people, together with their carers, to live fulfilling and independent lives by providing services that reflect their wants and needs.Our care and support services cover 3 main areas:• Sight Loss Support Services At Focus Birmingham we provide a comprehensive range of services enabling people of any age to adapt to these changes and use their vision to the greatest potential. Our services are delivered in a relaxed community environment by qualified and include dispensing spectacles and practical advice as well as counselling and support with independent living. Our community support team offer visiting and one to one support, as well as helpful information, befriending, social and community events and holidays.• Day ServiceThe Focus Birmingham day service works with adults 19 or older to provide stimulating programmes of activities that are tailored to the needs of the individual.Each day is well structured and the activities are varied, a hot meal is provided and we can accommodate special feeding methods and dietary requirements.Our activities enable individuals to gain life skills that help to build self esteem, confidence and independence. People visiting us for the first time often comment on the bright modern environment and the friendly and positive atmosphere, so please do arrange to come along and see us!...• Supported Living Based in Kings Norton at Millward Place, the supported living development consists of 14 self-contained one bedroom apartments which have been specially designed with adaptations such as hand rails as well as colour contrasting plug sockets, walls, kitchens and bathrooms.Our friendly, highly trained staff assist you with your day to day needs, allowing you to live as independently as possible, enjoying access to the wider community as well as maintaining links with family and friends
