Formula Electric Racing NUST, is an initiative by students of PNEC-NUST to design and build a Formula-style race car to compete in Formula SAE and Formula Student events each year. The primary aim of the team is to create a marketable car capable of being produced on a large-scale which appeals to both professional and amateur racers, while adhering to the standards defined by SAE. The team also carries out marketing and finance-related activities to enable the effort. The team participated in Formula SAE Electric 2016 as Pakistan's first-ever Electric Formula-style car in Lincoln, NE, USA.Formula Student and Formula SAE are student-level design competitions held all over the world which challenge student engineers to design, build and test a single seat racing car in one year. The cars are then judged on their speed, acceleration, handling and endurance in a series of time-trial races, while the teams are tested on their design, costing and business presentation skills. In 2018 team participated in Formula Student UK by Institute of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE) held at Silverstone Circuit, Towcester, from 11th to 15th July 2018. The team performed remarkably well, being ranked the best Asian team in the electric category. The team also managed to clear the technical inspection of chassis, and was praised by the judges for our innovative design of accumulator container. These competitions serve as testing grounds for the next generation of world-class engineers and are held in high regard by industry professionals who often come to recruit at the event venue.Facebook: /formulae.racing.nustTwitter: @formulaenustInstagram: @formulaelectricracing
