Nonprofit Organization Management - Charlottesville, Virginia, United States
We are the premier, all-volunteer Latino networking group for Charlottesville, promoting entrepreneurship in and recognition of the contributions of Latino and diverse professionals and businesspeople. We at Forward/Adelante seek to promote entrepreneurship among the Latino community in Virginia, to educate our area on the contributions and achievements of Latino and diverse professionals, and to connect Hispanic children, adults, professionals and enterpreneurs to the local resources, clientele, and fellow business owners that they can work with to pursue their dreams. Founded in 2008 by Olga Morse, Forward/Adelante Magazine was Virginia's fist bilingual business journal, showcasing the contributions of Latino entrepreneurs to the Central Virginia economy an community while providing strategies for diverse entrepreneurs and bridging cultural gaps between business communities in English and Spanish. Over time, we have grown into a non-profit serving our fellow Hispanic & Latino entrepreneurs through making connections, Signature Events, free workshops and seminars, the freely distributed Forward/Adelante Magazine, and more in the effort to encourage and support entrepreneurship among our Latino community and connections between Latino entrepreneurs and the diverse business community-at-large. Our team now consists of President & Secretary Alex Urpi; Vice-President Cristel Noel; Vice-President & Founder, Olga Morse; Treasurer Xavier Urpi; and team members Carolina Medina, Tony Polanco, Carlos Moreno, and Ann Marie Hohenberger.
