Fragments is an International Ensemble of theatre and video practitioners, headed by the artistic director Shane Dempsey. Our projects tour both nationally and internationally, with the company being based in Ireland and London. Our work is rooted in creative collaboration and greatly influenced by the European tradition of a resident ensemble that creates detailed work over prolongued period of time. We programme a wide range of work including our film unit led by Tom Flannery, new writing, devised projects, as well as theatrical adaptations of international classics from both Film and Literature. Hannah Burke, our playwright in residence, is responsible for the development of new writing that isinspired by working closely with the actors in the rehearsal room.Fragments consists of members from Ireland, England, Scotland, Wales, Russia, Poland, Lithuania, South Africa and Uganda.'Bold beautiful and moving, this talented company create theatre that awakens the senses and explodes into the space.'
