Fresh Start for Kids is committed to providing hope, direction and life changing experiences for foster children. Our entire camp program is designed to build the self-esteem of each and every foster child that comes to Camp Fresh Start. There are thousands of children currently in foster care in the Pinellas, Pasco, and Hillsborough counties. Additionally, there are children currently living with at least one parent who have been determined by the Department of Children and Families to be at risk due to abuse or neglect. Children placed in foster care can be in the system for years. Many of these children live in dozens of different homes. As they are moved from place to place, the opportunity to build trusting relationships is absent from their lives. Without a permanent or stable home, Who are they to trust? How will they learn that they are valued? Who will teach them about positive relationships when so many adults in their lives have failed them? Who will show them that their future is full of promise? That is our mission at Fresh Start for Kids. To give children who are victims of abuse and neglect…HOPE.
