Friends of Austin Animal Center was formed in 2006 to support Austin Animal Center — the open intake shelter in the nation's largest no-kill city. Our programs improve quality of life for shelter animals, help responsible owners keep their pets, and support the community's committed foster and volunteer network. We address animal medical issues, behavioral challenges, shelter stresses, facility needs, and costs of ownership — helping the most at-risk animals find and stay in their forever homes.
