Coal Creek is a 65-mile urban waterway that runs down from Golden, Colorado through the towns of Superior, Louisville, Lafayette, and Erie. It is a rare riparian corridor that is home to an abundance of wildlife, recreational opportunities, and natural beauty.Friends of Coal Creek is engaged in supporting and preserving the waterway's function and future by building community around the creek, fostering connections between people and nature, advocating for sustainable planning and development, and nurturing the thousands of species of plants and animals that use the creek area as its habitat. All life on the Colorado high plains flows out from water. Our mission is to support and nurture the future of the creek and the surrounding area by building connections between the creek, its community, and all its wild neighbors.Photo: NoelFlemingPhotography.com
