The Friendship Children's Center ("FCC") is a non-profit organization located in Washington, DC, and established in 1989 to provide high quality early childhood educational experiences to children in Washington DC. A primary goal of the curriculum at the Friendship Children's Center is to instill in its students the values and awareness necessary to build a community of active and compassionate citizens.\\This close-knit community provides care for approximately 75 children from birth to age five (ready for kindergarten) and employs 22 full-time staff. FCC strives to instill in every child a love of learning and the social, emotional, physical and cognitive skills to thrive as an individual and become a confident, active, responsible, and compassionate community member. \\Our school is founded upon the principles of learning through play. The program is designed to encourage curiosity, to provide opportunities for children to think creatively, and to allow children to make choices and decisions for themselves and be able to act freely upon those decisions within appropriate limits. Above all, our school provides an environment in which children are respected, loved, and encouraged to respect, love, and care for others.\\Unique components of the school's early learning program include: Enrollment, full-time and part-time -- Infant to 5 Years Old; Full-Day & Half Day Preschool; Creative Curriculum; Weekly Music & Yoga; Spanish & French Classes; Field Trips & Special Visitors
