Nonprofit Organization Management - New Westminster, British Columbia, Canada
F.U.T.U.R.E.S Society (Families Uplifted Through Understanding Respect Embraced and Support) is a not-for-profit organization based in the Lower Mainland. We are the connection between special needs children and the organizations that help them. We are committed to helping a special group of children from underprivileged, mentally and/or physically impaired children just be kids. \\We currently and proudly present the Vancouver's Special Children's Christmas Party (VSCCP) held annually in December.\\The purpose of the VSCCP is to provide over 2,000 special needs children, a day they will never forget! In addition to rides, toys, games, children's characters and entertainers, we distribute thousands of toys to children in need. Last year we gave over 7,000 fun and educational toys to over 1700 special children at Canada Place. Extra toys went to the Children's Hospital and The Salvation Army.\\The goal of the Special Children's Christmas Parties has always been the same: to gather children who are sick, terminally ill, physically and mentally challenged or disadvantaged through circumstances, and help them forget their challenges, show them they are not alone, and allow them to enjoy being children at a special time of the year. As party organizers, we contact a variety of schools, community groups and not-for profits all over Greater Vancouver to distribute invitations to children where they can make the most difference.\\We are also working on a number of summer programs to be posted soon.
