Oil & Energy - Perth, Western Australia, Australia
General MicroGrids (GMI) designs, builds and owns microgrids, located on customer premises that generate energy through a combination of onsite renewable resources, energy storage, demand management and managed fuel costs. We generate energy (electricity and heat) at a lower cost than utility companies and derive revenues and profits from the sale of that energy to our customers. Our customers gain better control over their energy costs and increase the stability, reliability and security of their energy needs. We also generate more electricity than needed by our customers and sell this excess capacity into the larger transmission grid - creating a Virtual Power Plant. The aggregation of excess capacity among all our customer sites, and the sale of this excess electricity into the larger transmission grid, is made possible by the use of our Intelligent Energy Systems Platform® (iESP) software. iESP dramatically increases our profitability by automating the monitoring and control of our microgrids as well as the sale of excess electricity.
