Welcome to The University of Hong Kong's Girl Up chapter! We are dedicated to establishing a safe space at HKU to discuss and advocate issues such as gender inequality, sexual harassment and the under-representation of women in leadership positions.Girl Up is a United Nations Foundation global leadership movement for young women. Its aim is female empowerment by advancing girls' rights, skills, and leadership opportunities across the globe. Girl Up's motto is "When girls rise, we all rise." It supports comprehensive programs and campaigns funded by the UN that facilitate equal opportunities and female representation in developing areas of the world with regards to health, education and socioeconomic empowerment.The Girl Up community of passionate advocates is now half a million strong and has impacted the lives of 58,000 girls through 3,300 Clubs in over 120 countries.
