Girl Up Urooj is SSE's chapter of the UN Foundations Girl Up initiative. Throughout history, there have always been those who challenge the established order. The realm of leaders and change-makers is no different. Much of the equality and freedom we have today- from the abolishment of apartheid to granting voting rights to women and increased female literacy rate- is because some dared to challenge the prevailing notions of their times. Keeping this as the main motive of the club, we focus on building leadership within students, impart knowledge about issues, how they intersect and empower each other as a community.
