In the fall of 2016, Dr. Jason Bauer and Dr. Jay Prescott, lifelong educators and former coaches, began to see the need for development and education for individuals looking to fill roles within the competitive eSports landscape at the high school, college, and professional levels. As the Directors of eSports at Grand View University they saw firsthand the limited pool of quality applications for positions needing to be filled to run a quality program at the university level. From this need, the formation of the Global eSports Academy and Clinic was put into motion. After a year of research, networking, and creating a state-of-the-art mobile online educational platform, GeSAC was launched! GeSAC is the first to provide quality education and training for the competitive eSports World. Specializing in the development and certification of high school, college, and professional eSports coaches, analysts, directors, casters, creatives, referees and competitive programs. Global eSports Academy and Clinics have worked with recognized experts in the competitive eSports global community to create insightful instructional clinics to help your specific area of development. GeSAC, with the guidance from Drs. Prescott and Bauer, have established a quality review process for all submitted instructional clinic curriculum. Once the material is reviewed and approved for the educational platform individuals can sign up for the courses and be awarded recognized certifications upon completion of the required curriculum. GeSAC also plans to launch live onsite regional and global eSports clinics in 2018. These clinics will host recognized experts in the eSports world as guest clinicians and provide a place for individuals to learn, network, and grow as an eSports professional.
