The Global Partnership for Effective Development Co-operation is a multi-stakeholder platform to advance the effectiveness of development efforts by all actors, to deliver results that are long-lasting and contribute to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).Realising the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development requires the mobilisation and effective use of all types of development resources, from all partners. The Global Partnership for Effective Development Co-operation brings together governments, bilateral and multilateral organisations, civil society, the private sector and representatives from parliaments and trade unions, among others, who are committed to strengthening the effectiveness of their partnerships for development. The Global Partnership promotes effective development co-operation geared towards ending all forms of poverty and inequality, advancing sustainable development and ensuring that no-one is left behind. It provides practical guidance and shares knowledge to boost development impact, supporting country-level implementation of the internationally-agreed development effectiveness principles. It also tracks progress in the implementation of these principles through its voluntary and country-led monitoring process. Its ten indicators focus on strengthening developing countries' institutions, increasing the transparency and predictability of development resources, enhancing gender equality and supporting greater involvement of civil society, parliaments and the private sector in development efforts. The 2018 monitoring round is currently ongoing and will contribute to the review of targets for SDG 5 and 17 and implementation of the Financing for Development agreements. Interested in joining?
