About G.I.A BLACK GIRLS IGNITE Africa originated as a non-profit in December 2011. The name has since been changed to GLOBALLY IGNITING AFRICA in June 2014, GIA is dedicated to the empowerment, encouragement, celebration and healthy development of young and old African women and girls. The organization's founder and CEO Abiodun Osoba established GIA to mentor young girls to combat negative images of black women in the media and all fields of life.
