About G.I.A BLACK GIRLS IGNITE Africa originated as a non-profit in December 2011. The name has since been changed to GLOBALLY IGNITING AFRICA in June 2014, GIA is dedicated to the empowerment, encouragement, celebration and healthy development of young and old African women and girls. The organization's founder and CEO Abiodun Osoba established GIA to mentor young girls to combat negative images of black women in the media and all fields of life. GLOBALLY IGNITING AFRICA is dedicated to the healthy development of young women and girls. GLOBALLY IGNITING AFRICA seeks to build the self-esteem and self-worth of young women in Africa by changing their outlook on life, broadening their horizons, and helping them to empower themselves is wonderful "Our girls are not being told how amazing they really are or how amazing they really can be, Abiodun Osoba exclaims.
