Rudy and his son John Forster purchased Ugalde Propane of Gerlach, Nevada in August of 1993. They changed the name to Granite Propane, Inc. in 1996, naming it after the mountain range just northwest of the town of Gerlach.The first expansion was to purchase property in Silver Springs, Nevada which they did in 2000. In the beginning, they operated the business from a telephone nailed to a pole until they decided to relocate the main office of Granite Propane, Inc. to Silver Springs, which they did in 2001.In June of 2012, Granite Propane, Inc. again expanded its growing service area to include Lovelock, Nevada and its surrounding areas. Later, as the company and service areas grew, the current plan in motion was to purchase property in Fallon, Nevada. This was to be used for yet another storage facility. Ultimately, the goal was to better serve that area and its surrounding businesses and customer base.Granite Propane, Inc. is very proactive in the safety associated with propane. All of our employees are continually educated by attending classes offered through the Liquid Propane Gas Association. Naturally, our staff members are trained in all areas of delivery, service, and most importantly, safety. Above all, our people are committed to the safety of our customers first. We will continue to provide the best customer service in our industry to our valued customers.
