Green Scouts is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization for kids of all ages who wish to participate in an after school/evening program to discuss environmental issues. Green Scouts goal is to provide education about standards and solutions for Our Community, Ourselves and "OurEarth".Offering a gathering place for classes on a wide variety of sustainability choices. Connecting people, organizations, businesses, schools, libraries, parks & recreation, etc. to collaborate on topics such as... Nutrition, Everyday Products, Recycling, Composting, Energy and Water Conservation. • Set-up groups known as "Branches" for the children and teens to take part in education, activities and projects.• Establish community programs in which everyone can partner to understand how to live a better, greener life.Green Scouts is the proud sponsor for the Evergreen Community Garden. We currently are working with Evergreen Parks and Recreation District for a proposal for a 1/2 acre+ Community Garden. Once we have permission to use land at the Buchanan Recreation Center Site fundraising efforts will begin.
