Harvey's Butter Rum Batter is sweet, buttery spiced mix used to make hot beverages and other special treats. Sold in the familiar yellow tub with the rabbit on the lid for over 50 years, Harvey's Butter Rum Batter is a Northwest tradition.Harvey's Butter Rum Batter was founded in 1960 in Bremerton, Washington, by Harvey Hudson. Harvey first created his special recipe in 1952 while tending bar at a local lounge. It was such a hit with his customers they began asking for the batter to make their own drinks at home. Harvey's recipe became so popular that in 1960 he contracted with a local dairy to produce the batter in larger batches "after hours" using their equipment. In 1972 Harvey built his own plant in Bremerton, Washington where it still remains today. Harvey was passionate about his business and his customers. He continued working until his death at age 94 in 2011. Scott McBride and Stacy Ryan purchased the company from Harvey's heirs in 2011. They remain committed to the Harvey's tradition. Harvey's Butter Rum Batter is hand crafted in small batches using the highest quality ingredients, including fresh butter.
