ABOUT HPRO: The Health Protection and Research Organisation (HPRO) is an Afghan national non-profit organisation. We are comprised of Afghan and expatriate public health professionals with specialisations in: * Public health research * Capacity building and institutional development * Monitoring and evaluation MANDATE: HPRO's mandate is to provide long-term technical assistance to national institutions in the area of healthcare development. The goal is to improve the lives of the Afghan population. Afghanistan has multiple priorities for healthcare improvement. This requires not only direct resources, but a long-term academic approach which builds national sustainability and self reliance. HPRO focuses on improving health using objective, research-based methodologies to improve policy and practice. We aim to provide independent third-party information of use to policy makers both in Afghanistan and the wider Central and South Asia region. HPRO also provides high quality academic training and institutional technical support.
