The Healthcare Group Purchasing Industry Initiative (HGPII) is the nation's leading authority on ethics within healthcare group purchasing. Founded in 2005 by a consortium of major and minor GPOs, HGPII members serve the vast majority of America's hospitals, with over 96% of hospitals relying on one or more GPOs. The goal of HPGII is to assure ongoing adherence to ethical conduct and business practices, and to hold the confidence of the public and governments in the integrity of the industry.About HGPIIUnder the supervision of respected, independent coordinators, HGPII is a peer-led, self-governance organization composed of the nation's foremost GPOs. The HGPII Steering Committee (Board) and Working Group (daily operations) is comprised of executives from the largest GPOs with each HGPII signatory represented. In addition to convening quarterly meetings, HGPII administers an annual "Public Accountability Questionnaire" and conducts an annual "Best Practices Forum." The PAQ is an extensive set of questions regarding business and ethics practices, which his reviewed in detailed by HGPII via telephone and in-person interviews.
