The Hewitt Foundation is a private Canadian foundation established in late 2017 following the sale of Hewitt Equipment Limited, the operating company of the Hewitt family since 1952. Jim Hewitt, and the Hewitt family, had a desire to continue its legacy of giving back to the communities around them which led them to establish one of Canada's largest private charitable foundations.The Foundation will focus on Eastern Canada, with respect to the former operating company's territory – Québec, the Maritimes and Ontario - in order to support the same communities that helped build Hewitt Equipment for over 65 years.
