Alameda County took the pledge...will you? Over the next 10 years, we will promote awareness to increase life expectancy of mental health consumers by 10 years. Our focus is to promote wellness from a holistic perspective and to reduce stigma by spreading awareness of mental health issues from a strength based perspective. We creatively reframed the Eight Dimensions of Wellness, bringing nationwide attention and receiving accolades from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services' Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration. Our committee created an empowering campaign slogan, "Live well, live long, love life!" that motivates over 500 walkers each year to "Move for Health."
