Human Rights & Democracy (HR&D) is the product of several discussions and collective thinking. We dream of a world where human rights and democracy discussions are not circumscribed to decision-makers, lawyers or the academia. Utopian? Maybe! We hope HR&D will move us a few steps in that direction.HR&D was born out of our wish to engage in human rights discussions, and to stimulate a dialogue between young and old, north and south, without any barriers of gender, age, origin, occupation or world view.We wish to:• Facilitate the access to human rights knowledge and thinking to persons outside the usual human rights circles;• Stimulate the connection between human rights and different fields of science and professional activities, promoting a multidisciplinary approach to human rights and democracy; and• Offer a source of inspiration and material for teaching, lobbying and advocacy for teachers, civil society organisations, and individual human rights defenders and activists.
