Nonprofit Organization Management - Los Angeles, California, United States
Founded in 1987 by a group of UCLA students, Hunger Project at UCLA is an undergraduate-run service organization that addresses issues concerning housing and food insecurity in the Greater Los Angeles Area. Our mission is not only to provide urgently needed immediate assistance, but also to promote education and awareness among our UCLA community about the structures and intersectional issues which contribute to and reinforce poverty, hunger, and housing insecurity in the United States. Our student leaders excel in researching, organizing, and facilitating effective ways of promoting awareness, compassion, and aid to the disadvantaged members of our community. In our direct aid and advocacy efforts, Hunger Project at UCLA aims to equip people who lack stable housing with the means to regain their independence. As a community of volunteers, we are dedicated to helping end the cycle of houselessness and bringing students to the front lines of this fight against inequity.
