Individuals who are neurodiverse may have a diagnosis of ADHD, anxiety, dyslexia, autism, Asperger's Syndrome or have no diagnosis at all. They often struggle to understand social rules that are confusing and unclear, leading to gaffs and misunderstandings. At iCan House we provide programs teaching social skills instruction for all ages. iCan House, a 501 c3 nonprofit organization in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, educates, supports, and enhances the lives of those with social challenges and their families. We do so by teaching social and life skills using our own unique, interactive and engaging curriculum. Our programs use a positive approach focusing on what one can do. Each club meets weekly as members learn life, social, and independence skills while developing a sense of belonging and purpose.Founded in 2008, now 120 children and adults travel to iCan House from 11 counties in North Carolina and Virginia. iCan House participants range in age from 8 years old to adults in their 60's. In addition, parents receive support and instruction, while meeting others with similar challenges.
