Il Pollenza is situated in the province of Le Marche; in an area that is characterised by vineyards, grain fields and farming villages. The 220 hectare estate lies partly in the town of Tolentino and partly in Pollenza.Count Aldo Brachetti-Peretti purchased the estate in the early 1980s and transformed it into a winery. He wanted to return to his family's roots, whose history lies in Le Marche.Previously, Aldo lived in Rome, where he spent 36 years working in the oil and energy sector. He had yearned to return to the land that his family had called home for so many years and found what he was looking for in Il Pollenza. Aldo saw the potential of turning the estate into a winery. "This is a good place for vineyards because we are around 30 kilometres from the sea and 30 kilometres from the mountains – it's a perfect balance," says Aldo. "The area is also well suited to grape cultivation because of its micro-climate, humidity and calcerous rock and limestone soil."
