Bringing mobile video technology to the areas that need it most, illuminAid (formerly OMPT) enables the most under-served communities in the world to lift themselves out of poverty by gaining access to knowledge that can transform their lives.Matt and Patrice York founded illuminAid in January of 2008, after more than 20 years in publishing and video production. To date, illuminAid has trained 600 NGO workers in 28 countries, partnering with some of the most experienced organizations in the world to incorporate video into their behavior-change communication (BCC) strategies, including the Center for Disease Control, Save the Children, Mercy Corps, the US State Department, and CRS. This field experience has deepened our understanding of what is possible with video.In addition to providing partners with equipment, know-how and guidance on video production, illuminAid is constantly working to develop cutting-edge innovations to hardware and software so that organizations can increase their reach and impact.illuminAid empowers individuals in the 50 poorest countries on the planet to create locally originated video's on topics such as: public health, disaster risk management, improved food production, basic education, sanitation and hygiene and maternal and child health.
