Independent Support Solutions (ISS) is a Cairns-based Disability Support Service dedicated to providing an array of supports including supporting people with physical and psychosocial disabilities (disabilities that arise from mental health issues) and their families to access the NDIS, provide Support Coordination support, and support workers.We understand that the NDIS process can be overwhelming to take in and navigate. But don't worry, at Independent Support Solutions you're in good hands with our extensive experience, quality client service, and an experienced, dedicated, and compassionate team. We understand that not one support plan fits all.ISS supports, in no particular order of importance, for Self-managed or Plan managed participants.• Private care (this is the only service that is paid out of pocket if anyone requires services outside of the NDIS)• Application to the NDIS• Community Access• Personal care• Post-hospital support• Domestic assistance• Psychosocial services• Disability support services• Respite (Emergency and short, medium and long term) in ISS supported accommodation• Group-based activities• Transport• Support Coordination• Support workers• Working as a mentor during life stages such as School Life, University Life, or transitioning into the workforce• Providing support and advice with scholastic endeavours• Providing advice and direction in improving skills for employment opportunities• Skills Initiative Cafe aimed at building skill and capacity for the hospitality workforceWe service in the following areas:• Cairns• Port Douglas• Mossman• Tablelands (Atherton, Mareeba, Malanda, Milla Milla, Yungaburra and surrounds)• Innisfail• Mission Beach, Tully, and Cardwell• Townsville
