The Building engineering degree program trains students to become engineers who work mainly in building design in traditional and industrial construction sites, both for new construction and refurbishment; in real estate management and organisation; in the construction process management and organisation where materials, products and parts are concerned; and in surveying and assessing building and architectural heritage.The building engineer is fully aware of and has the skills to manage the complexity of the construction system, its subsystems and the environmental context.This professional figure is employed mainly for support activities to design and construction, and in general in any management, organizational and construction activity within public and private technical departments, construction companies and engineering firms.Any professional activity, entailing responsibilities towards third parties, may begin after registration with the Association of Engineers, in section B (junior engineer), after passing the State exam.
