Ingenuity is a purpose-designed smart cities innovation hub, created to link disparate ideas, technologies, people and organisations together to solve real-world challenges. The hub's focus will be on local and city challenges that are also faced by other towns and cities nationally and internationally so that viable, novel solutions adopted by the city are scalable, both to attract industry and maximise impact.The 1,200 sq m Ingenuity hub, which is due to open in September 2022 and comprises three distinct but inter-related zones:1. Collaboration zone – A hub dedicated to collaborative innovation, with a mix of spaces for impromptu conversation or private discussion, talks and presentations, drop-down workspace and prototyping2. Learning zone – a flexible space for digital skills programmes, events and showcasing for smart cities innovation3. Start-up zone – shared workspace for start-upsBased at White Rose Park (WRP) primarily with an Ingenuity@Morley popup space in the town centre created to encourage citizens and other stakeholders to engage in innovative and entrepreneurial activity. Real-world testing of innovations will take place in a range of environments at White Rose Park, in Morley and across Leeds.
