Insaan means "human" in Arabic, Hindi, Persian, and Urdu. Our name reflects our commitment to humanity—to people, who are at the center of all we do. We connect people to spur change. Our mission is to connect philanthropists with people in need in the Indian Ocean region for high-impact philanthropy: social enterprises that lift people out of poverty, for good. Our clients are philanthropists with interests in what Robert D. Kaplan describes as the monsoon region, the Indian Ocean region, a region where ancient trade routes revived by a new wealth generation are transforming the philanthropic map. Insaan Group is registered as a 501(c)(3) public charity under United States law and as a foundation under Dutch law.
