The Institute is a leading center of human genetics in Poland and a valued partner in extensive cooperation with institutions in the country and abroad. The main research areas of the Institute are cytogenetics, molecular genetics, cell pathology, reproductive biology, mutagenesis and biotechnology. Research conducted at the Institute also covers issues related to transgenesis, epigenetics, genomics, transcriptomics and proteomics. Genetic research conducted at the Institute not only have a cognitive aspect, but thanks to extensive cooperation with medical institutions, they are used in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases.
