Institute of Sustainable Development (ISD) founded in the year 2005 by a group of social scientists and social workers is engaged in Research, Training and Community Participatory Initiatives in Sustainable Development. Our work is very briefly described below:Social Development Research: Interdisciplinary researches, qualitative research, need assessment, baseline studies, program evaluation, and impact assessment. We offer our expertise to undertake any research studies as the sponsor may require. Training: For research scholars on research methods, for community development professionals in participatory development, for Panchayat Raj Institutions in drinking water management, for Water User Associations in irrigation water management, and other tailor made trainings in sustainable development. Our expertise in training is available to other organisations on a cost basis.Community Participatory Initiatives: Stakeholder participation is the thrust in the development oriented community initiatives and focus on (i) water for life and livelihood, and (ii) sustainable human development. We work with Farmers with an emphasis on Water and Food Security and with Panchayat Raj Institutions for drinking water local governance. Children are the specific target for the sustainable human development programmes of ISD.
