Launched in 2006 to critical acclaim, the INTERNATIONAL GREEN AWARDS™ were set up to recognise and reward creativity in sustainability and the importance of Corporate Social Responsibility, Sustainable Development and Ethical Best Practice in any sector and across any marketing discipline. In 2009, the INTERNATIONAL GREEN AWARDS™ moved beyond 'communication' focused initiatives, and sought to showcase the 'best-in-class' examples of business, citizen and government initiatives towards sustainable outcomes. In 2010 the INTERNATIONAL GREEN AWARDS™ went global and were opened to entries from all over the world. The INTERNATIONAL GREEN AWARDS™ reflected an increasing appetite from business and industry for examples of excellence and best practice in sustainability and green issues. Awards have always been well placed to act as beacons of innovation and leadership as experts recognise organisations who are paving the way for a more sustainable future. The last event took place in November 2012 in the former Battersea Power Station London before it was redeveloped. The awards are now taking a break and looking to redevelop the programme to reflect the developments in sustainable business in the last 10 years. We hope to come back in some shape or form in the not too distant future to continue the education and knowledge sharing that began in 2006.
