The Iowa Innovation Gateway is a dynamic, vibrant network of business, education, workforce, and economic development leaders working collaboratively to create a globally competitive region which includes the counties of Story, Marshall, Tama, Jasper, Poweshiek, Marion, and Mahaska counties of Central Iowa. The Iowa Innovation Gateway Region was the first region in the nation to receive a Regional Innovation Grant from the U.S. Department of Labor to support the creation of a strategic regional economic development plan. Leaders in the region used the non-linear WIRED framework in putting the plan together and still employ the model in the implementation of the plan.
