Intangible cultural heritage is threatened in the Pacific, particularly due to climate change and out-migration from small island states. Customs, languages, and traditions of affected island communities are at risk of disappearing when community members move to far-away places. At the Island Ark Project we believe that digital technologies can helps us bridge the gap between migrants and their home communities. Partnering with individuals and organizations in small island states and elsewhere, we hope to contribute to effective ICT-based safeguarding of Intangible Cultural Heritage.
