Gemma Hjerth, a Ramsey-based marketer and project manager, published 'M is for Manx Cat! An Isle of Man ABC' and 'The Isle of Man ABC Colouring and Activity Book' to celebrate her Island home in 2019, as well as a range of matching gifts/souvenirs.Each letter of the alphabet is represented in the books by a digital illustration of an Isle of Man icon, such as 'M is for Manx Cat' and 'T is for Tynwald Hill'.The picture book also includes rhymes, Manx translation and pronunciations, local songs, fun facts and a little wren to hunt for.The colouring book features 26 colouring pages, plus activities including letter/postcard writing, creating a treasure map, an Island-wide scavenger hunt, matching Manx pairs game and a make your own mini ABC book.The books appeal to young children, early readers and Isle of Man - and Manx cat! - enthusiasts from near and far away.Both books were illustrated and designed by Kim Gee (‘Kim Gee Studio') and received financial assistance from Isle of Man Arts Council.The gift range includes pin badges, posters, gift wrap, greetings cards, tote bags, tea towels, coasters, magnets, keyrings, mugs, money boxes, collectors tins, lunch boxes, pencil cases, postcards and reward stickers!In 2020, 'M is for Manx Cat The Musical', by Stage Door Entertainment, will be on tour around 4 venues on the Isle of Man.
