JCI is a nonprofit organization of young active citizens between the age of 18 to 40 who are engaged and committed to creating an impact in their communities. They carry out research, identify problems in the society and outline solutions to create sustainable impact. JCI gathers active citizens from all sectors of society and helps them to develop the skills, knowledge and understanding needed to make informed decisions and take action. It was founded on October 13, 1915 by Henry Giessenbier in St. Louis USA.JCI members take initiative to solve local challenges. It only takes one active citizen to change the world. JCI provides development opportunities for active citizens such that they can empower other young individuals to be active citizens as well.All young individuals have rights, responsibilities and as a result of being globally minded, they share responsibilities. JCI helps these globally minded individuals find targeted solutions to local issues benefitting our communities, our world and our future. By encouraging them to embracing new ideas, collaborate and diversify, JCI amplifies their passion and courage to address the critical challenges of our time.JCI identifies active citizens all over the world. They are living, communicating, taking action and creating impact in our communities. They are boarded on a journey with JCI to take local action for global impact.JCI organizes many international conferences and events where members from all around the globe gathers for networking, knowledge sharing and have the best time of their lives. Some of these events include JCI Asia Pacific Conference, JCI Africa & Middle East Conference and JCI World Congress. For members skills development debating championship and public speaking championship are also organized in the national and international level.Today we have over 200,000 members worldwide, 5000 plus local organizations and 100 plus national organizations.
