Maritime - Lymington, England, United Kingdom
Jeremy Rogers set up in business in 1961, and within 10 years became one of the most successful boat manufacturers in Britain. (By the late 70s Jeremy Rogers' company included five purpose-built factories in Lymington and a workforce of nearly 200 employees).Production included Contessas ranging in size from the traditional 26 to the Doug Peterson designed grand prix 35s, 39s and 43s, many of which were exported to a worldwide market. The most popular of all was the Contessa 32, and after a break in production there was an opportunity in 1995 to purchase back the moulds. So a limited number of these much-loved classics are now being built again at the yard, adding to the 650 or so already sailing all over the world.Jeremy Rogers' company diversified into industrial moulding, and Jeremy Rogers Special Products Division operates alongside the yacht building operation. One of the most exciting recent products is the Atlas Carbon Davit.
