Inspired by public radio and podcasting, JOYRIDE! is a twice annual interactive storytelling event based in San Francisco. With a focus on presenting well-produced first-person stories alongside interactive audience experiences, the show involves live storytelling, produced audio, multi-media, blindfolds, led lights, and other unique elements that lend a tangible, physical dimension to the audience experience. Themes have included GHOSTS, which explores the human tendency to be haunted by experiences or people, and STONES THROWN IN GLASS HOUSES, which explores the use of proverbs and warning tales to socialize our tribes. Our most recent production was mounted at San Francisco's Conservatory of Flowers, the first storytelling event ever held at the Conservatory. The event regularly sells out, and is produced by a team of three staff producers and six volunteer producers.
